Tong work is motor and sensory skills as well as tactile. Dried rice place in tuber-ware with a spoon is fun and dried macaroni is cool too. Both keep your little student from crying or getting fussy. And, they also teach the baby how to grip, place things back down nicely, and the wondrous feeling of things falling through their hand.
